Job Summary

• Perform a network analysis of client networks to identify deficiencies and present recommendations for stabilization to client
• Provide technical assistance to both internal and external users for installed devices/applications and remote access solutions
• Generate and maintain configuration documentation for all client production networks and systems
• Implementation of a variety of network technology for clients, including but not limited to: Routers, Firewalls, Switches, Intrusion Detection Systems, WAN Optimization appliances, VPN, Bandwidth aggregation and redundancy, and Voice over IP
• Careful creation and modification of processes and procedures to be used by other engineers
• Research and resolve technical client issues using problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Document problem resolutions in the support knowledgebase
• Perform system and network hardware/software/firmware upgrades for internal and external customers
• Maintain relevant, up-to-date knowledge of Operating Systems, network technologies, design best practices, and support technologies
• After-hours and weekend work as necessary

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience


• A minimum of 10 years previous technical or field service experience
• Ability to architect complex network solutions
• Strong Cisco route/switch experience
• Advanced configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of the following:
• Firewalls – VPN’s, NAT policies, redundant pairing and IPS/IDS solutions
• Routers – BGP, EIGRP and OSPF, VRF, ZBF, NAT, Policy routing, route redistribution and DMVPN
• Switches – Stacking, Layer 3 functions, multivendor experience (Cisco, HP, Brocade, etc.)
• Basic configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of the following:
• Wireless – WLAN controllers, autonomous and bridged AP’s, VoIP over wireless
• Monitoring and configuration management tools
• Medium market solutions such as SonicWall, Watchguard, Etc.
• Strong ability to create network diagrams in Visio
• Strong organizational and technical writing skills
• Excellent communication and presentation skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work with different teams and help design solutions
• Must be able to use basic hand tools, climb a ladder, and lift 50 lbs.
• CCIE preferred (CCNP with relevant experience accepted)

• Professional Office Environment or Client Site
• Business casual attire, jeans on Friday
• Local travel of 25% may be required
• This position requires the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
